Veteran's Day at Westside
Who: GS that
attend WSES to participate in this years Veterans Day program
When: November 10th, 2015
What: Annually, WSES hosts an extremely popular and largely attended Veterans Day program. Our SU Girl Scouts that attend WSES traditionally
perform the Flag Ceremony. Mrs. Lanzalotto has coordinated the girls and practiced
with them over the past 7 years.
Please let me know (mlanzalo@iwcs.k12.va.us) if you have a Girl Scout that attends WSES, has a full uniform (white top, beige bottom, vest or sash), and wants to participate on 11.10.15. There is no limit to how many may participate, please know that only 2 girls will actually carry the flags. The girls will be practicing with me from 8:35 when they get off the bus until 9:05
when they will report to their homerooms. I will communicate to their
teachers but please be sure that they are comfortable with missing any
AM work.
Please have them stop by the office at Westside to pick up an application from Mrs. Lanzalotto.

ODAT
Girls in Troop #989 have joined ODAT. It is an older girl GS adventure
crew that does outdoor activities that are nature based. These pictures
are from last week when they went tree climbing. In a few weeks they
are going white water rafting, tubing, and a weekend canoe trip down the
Shenandoah River where they pitch tents on the side of the river as
they travel.
