Volunteer Opportunity!

Pork, Peanut, and Pine Festival. The Pork, Peanut, and Pine Festival at Chippokes Plantation State Park celebrates 40 years in 2015. The festival promotes Surry’s prominent agricultural products in a two day festival of arts, crafts, children’s activities, music and food. Assorted food vendors from Virginia offer delectable pork and peanut selections such as barbecue, fried pork rinds, grilled pork chops, sausage, ham biscuits, peanut pie and peanut brittle. There will be live entertainment all day, highlighted on Saturday by a performance of the Kentucky Headhunters at 3 pm. Date: Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19. Time: 10 am to 5 pm. Fee $5/person, children 12 and under free. We need volunteers for Fee Collection and Traffic Control. Please contact Kathryn Lane using the information below if you are able to help.
